Context: Suspect as my faith has been, it’s (un)seen me through the (s)nagging, wail-inducing feelings that cried—
“Repeat, repeat, repeat after me;
You’re knot meant to be a-(parade) float,
and soon will not be!
And, lo and behold(en), it’s a glorious Sundae, and here’s the latest (“I’m serene. ‘You serene? We all scream for, “Livin’ the dream!”) scoop…
So, for any dieters,
there’s no need to worry about callow-ries;
for, if you suspend(er) your belief for a while,
you’ll never be too big for your britches…
To that end (of not getting to the point) here are some Goofy/toothy gaps in logic meant to tickle your funny bone—more specifically, your sentimental shin 🙂
Hello, Wonderfuls,
Although the royal wedding holds no special interest for either me or my dogs, my canine cuties sense my joyful spirit and are especially exuberant…
But, alas, in wonderland, not even this queen’s Jubilee (and Frosty) can hold a candle to the glory of today…for neither has opposable thumbs.
On the other hand (me that needle in a haystack), they’re using their doggie grins to pay homage to an impossibly wonderful occasion.
“And what occasion might that be?”, asks the “Clue”-less gang in the “Peanut(s”) gallery.
“Why”, says I, “It’s a great day for a Bright Shedding”.
Yep, it’s always (self)worth it to use de-duck-tive reasoning to solve the mystery of diving right in and (about) faceing things head on!”
For, fellow (p)optimists, we acknowledge that life is rife with twists and turns…
we can’t know all that’s in store…
and, pessimism sometimes nips at our heals.
But, when ambushed by a—Prince (has died) or “Paup ( (er) Goes the Weasel)—blind-side,
having the courage to challenge multi-directional demoralizers will reward us with the last and loudest laughs.
A bold declaration, to be sure…
But, “Yes, I said it,
I said it,
I said it ‘cause I can…”
‘Know what else?
“Today I don’t feel like doing anything. I’m just gonna lay in my (head). Don’t feel like picking up my phone, leave a message at the tone, ’cause today I don’t feel like doing anything…”
Except, my part to change the world.
See,
given the gift of liberation,
I get that:
- I wasn’t going through intermittent depressions these past few months…
- I wasn’t losing ground…
- My pained heart wasn’t breaking…
- –Unsinkable—
It was giving birth to wings! 🙂
So, for any trolls who’ve wandered into my flare-y tale,
“Don’t hate me because I’m dutiful.”
Profound growth is a hard-won victory meant for us all…all you’ve got to do is do your p’eart.
Additional FYI’s:
Today is (“Mr.) D”-day and, happy as a ham, I’ve been drenched in a (Jonathan) Torren-tial downpouring of comedic talent…
Also, one of my all-time favorite movies—”Murder On The Orient Express (Yourself)”—is on offer;
and while, typically, I “Don’t go for second best (baby)”,
I decided that sometimes you’ve got to “put your love to the test”.
So, I ordered the 2017 version on pay-per-view…
only to find that the picture kept breaking up!
And when I discovered that switching back and forth between regular TV and the (back-in-the-) saddle-light signal didn’t work,
I adjusted my expectations and focused on the beauty of the sets…
rather than continuity of the story.
Which was fine because I know the plot so well.
And, this development makes for a great metaphor-segue…
(*A–Never Never doubt you’ll Land on your feat–Darlings*).
Funny enough, real-life mysteries don’t lend themselves to pay-per-view—
and I for one don’t have a crystal (Lu-see-all) ball…
But, I know that “every little thing is gonna be all right” in the end.
And, yes, that’s easy to say on a magical day like today when,
surveying beautiful blue sky as far as my eye can see,
it’s the biggest gift I could ever get!
But, having found ways to believe on grey days, too,
I’m thankful that I worked so hard to appreciate ALL I’ve come to be thankful for.
And, I especially want to thank those of you who loyally found a way to keep up with me even when I was down 🙂
God bless you and your loves, Amazers 🙂
Affectionately,
Truly
P.S. Title/What A Beautiful Day For A Royal Shedding is my play on the Royal Wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ; a-(parade)float is my play on “keeping afloat”, and a memory of a long-ago-friend’s announcement that I was a parade on two legs…this back in the day (decades) when I was stuck in people-pleasing mode and afraid others would discover the real—unknown to me—me under the layers of pretense and faux bubbliness; Sundae/(“I’m serene. ‘You serene? We all scream for, “Livin’ the dream!”) scoop is my “I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream” pun; ..no need to worry about callow-ries…is my calories pun—callow is defined as immaturity; Goofy/toothy gaps in logic is my nod to Disney character, Goofy and his gap-tooth grin; Clue”-less gang in the “Peanut(s”) gallery is my nod to (1949) murder-mystery board game, “Clue”, and the Peanuts Gang/Charlie Brown; “It’s a nice day for a Bright Shedding is my play on 1982 Billy Idol’s (1982), “(It’s A Nice Day For A) White Wedding”; “Yes, I said it, I said it, I said it ‘cause I can…“Today I don’t feel like doing anything. I’m just gonna lay in my (head). Don’t feel like picking up my phone, leave a message at the tone, cause today I don’t feel like doing anything…” is a lyric from Bruno Mars’ 2010 hit and the first song of his I heard…one of my favorite artists, he reminds me of a young Michael Jackson before Michael became controversial…I’m just gonna lay in my head is my play on “I’m just gonna lay in my bed”; “Don’t hate me because I’m dutiful”…is my play on, (1980’s) “Don’t hate me because I’m beautiful”, Pantene/shampoo commercial starring (then) “it girl”, Kelly LeBrock; do your p’eart is my part/heart play; (“Mr.) D”-day is my play on Canadian sitcom, “Mr. D.” (debuted in 2012), starring hilarious former teacher, Jerry Dee…and I’ve been drenched in a (Jonathan) Torren-tial downpouring of comedic talent…is my nod to super-funny co-star, Jonathan Torrens; “Murder On The Orient Express” is a 1934 Agatha Christie novel starring Belgian detective, Hercule Poirot, and “Express Yourself” is a (1989) Madonna hit…and, “Don’t go for second best (baby), put your love to the test” is a line in the song; (Never Never doubt you’ll Land on your feat), Darlings is my Peter Pan pun…and feat, instead of feet, is my accomplishment pun; crystal (Lu-see-all) ball is my nod to comedy queen, Lucille Ball; “Every little thing is gonna be all right” is my nod to Bob Marley’s (1980) hit.
Glad you’re enjoying the blue sky! Love your lightness and love, Truly. Have a beautiful week, my friend!

Hi, there….I’m okay…I will post sometime next week….one of my dogs has been really sick and I’ve been very worried and sleep deprived between caring for him on my own (which includes getting up throughout the night to syringe feed him etc) and working….and before that, I was writing just for me…I’ll explain in my next post (it’s 80 percent done but was interrupted by Frosty’s illness). I hope you are enjoying magical moments and peaceful breaks 🙂

I am indeed and so relieved to hear that you are ok … but very sad for Frostie 😦 Will he recover or is he dying?
Just trying to update my Meet the Bloggers as it’s extremely popular and I’m slow at posting interviews coz I want quality ones 🙂

Thankfully, Frosty is on the mend and will survive…he has come through the worst of it and I am soooooo relieved!!! Now, it’s just a matter of him regaining his strength and appetite. He’s well enough that he can sleep with Jubilee and I in bed again 🙂 I am sending you a huge hug and wishes for wonderful things 🙂

I wanted to let you know I have missed reading you and like Kate was beginning to worry. (I told myself don’t assume bad)
I kept telling myself you were just taking a relaxing break. I am sad that it was not just a nice vacation but illness in the family… ( I imagine you consider your dog Frosty part of your family) I am relieved that Frosty is on the mend and we will hear back from you soon.
Take time to get well and rested… I hope your heart is warmed by all the people here who have missed you and care enough to make sure you are ok. There are a lot of caring and loving people in this world… kind of brings one hope and light which if we let it will replace all of the negative stuff we often hear or experience.

Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness…as will be revealed in my upcoming post, it turned out that Frosty’s upswing was short-lived…it turned out that he had kidney failure and I had to have him euthanized last Monday…heartbreaking…yes, he and Jubilee are family. My consolation is the knowing that he was well cared for, loved, and did not suffer a lingering, painful death. I am 99% sure I will post today, and I look forward to catching up on what’s new with you and my blog friends 🙂
