July 30/17…Thank You For Spending My Staycation With Me :)

Well, Amazers, it’s Sunday…the last day before I go back to work after two glorious weeks of, whatever-my-heart-desired, relaxation.

Before I continue with that thread, however, I want to make special mention of Patty

and Robert

I want to thank them again for their humbling kindness…they know what they did for me earlier this week (I’ll leave it at that, as I don’t want it to come off as self-promotion).

Their blogs are amazing, and they–even more so….you’d do well to visit them!

And, now, to my point…

Given extra time to write/share, I followed my mind’s lead, and wrote my usual type offerings; as well as straight-forward ones (always so well received…thank you soooo much for that!).

The inclusion of a more serious side is evidence of the evolution of our sharing…

Initially, “Truly unplugged” was a wordplay reflecting my intention to post writings that flowed from my stream of consciousness…my sugar-coded ideas, experiences, thoughts,  and introspections as they occurred to me….

And, as I’ve mentioned before, I had little idea about how easily double-entendres would come to me…right out of the blue!

And after a year and a half, I’ve embraced initial/sustained connections, even as I’m making new ones…

So, today it strikes me that I’m ready to say that I really have found my niche in your company….my online tribe as it were.

Your support, positivity, kindness, comments– and responses to my comments–are the glue that have cemented our mutual admiration and…

Trust…imagine that….

For, when you think about it, each of us likely had our hearts in our throats…

taking that fish-out-of-water leap as we published our first, second, eighth post…

Feeling like a new kid in school, not sure what to expect…

other than the expectation that we’ll be stared out, scrutinized, met with (at best) polite curiosity…

Hoping to be invisible didn’t apply given that, if we wished to blend in–be wallflowers as it were–we wouldn’t have have “put ourselves out there”.

Instead, we found ourselves quietly and desperately hoping someone would want to be our friend…

So, shyly we made eye contact, looking for an encouraging sign…a glimpse of warmth and welcoming to spark our hope that we just might really like it in this new place of learning and growing…

Even better…

that we might come to have a lot of fun…and laughter…and the confidence to share the best kind of secrets…the secret petitions of our heart…our greatest dreams for our futures…

And, that kind of bold leap requires trust…

What a fragile and powerful thing….

And, friends, I knew I trusted you when I re-read yesterday’s offering this morning and realized I hadn’t quite laid the groundwork for the zaniness that followed Context.

As can be my way, for fear of over-explaining, I sometimes forget to include a thought that links my subsequent thoughts…

But when I was able to succinctly add a few lines of organic explanation (rather than engaging in a frantic and self-conscious bid to “fix a mistake”), I knew we’d reached a new level of bonding.

Sure, a few of you read it before I updated it…and, you are among the faithful who consistently read and let me know you “like” me (and like me!)…and, yours are the opinions that really matter because you know my writing best…

But, you still showed your support and appreciation (whether you clicked “like”, or went a step further and left a comment…either way, much appreciated! 🙂 ).

What I mean to say is, I know we only get one chance to make a first impression–and I’m okay with the thought that someone new stumbled across that post and didn’t quite get where I was going…

For, I know that those of you who get me would’ve overlooked the muddled bit, and focused on the well-intended message…

That gives me the confidence of knowing that we each have room to “do better as we know better”… (Maya Angelou)

You are just wonderful, and so appreciated…and, I just wanted to tell you that…

God Bless You And Your Loves,

P.S. If you’re so inclined, yesterday’s post can be found at

  2. Returning to work after a long break can be a nightmare for me. I always end up forgetting all my passwords, driving the tech department potty.
