(Oct 20/16…123 words–that’s pure coincidence). Bed Head…

Home today…this feels suspiciously like the flu…without the vomiting…
On the other hand, I have a really comfortable bed to sleep-it-off in, gorgeous views of God’s country, listened to some fantastic podcasts (https://crumblecult.com/ is beyond amazingly-deep and funny), and Frosty is a great bed-mate. ‘Keeps me company without expecting to be entertained…okay, he’s sleeping, but still. I had to kick Jubilee out because she kept tromping all over the bed and shaking it with her scratching. She was recently groomed, and is now convinced that she’s itchy all over (and, all evidence indicates that her “affliction” is all in her mind 🙂 ).
Anyway, I hope you are having moments worthy of big smiles and warm feelings ❤
God bless you, game changers 🙂

  1. One should not really like a post delivering the flu like blah but in the absence of a get well soon button it will have to do. My deep sympathies indeed and, in true kindred spirit, one must empathise by nodding and considering my own immune system is not really doing the combat thing as well as it should be here either!

Still, in a weird way your uplifting post raised smiles despite the duality of malaise.

Now rest up and get well soon 💐💐

  2. Hey, so I have a question. I really, really, REALLY enjoy your blog, and obviously a lot of other people do too. You are amazing at writing and you have such a big heart; and thank you so much for commenting on my posts, it makes me so happy and it really encourages me.
Anyway, how do you have so many followers? I have about 5 or 6 and you have so much more! I recently have been thinking about what I write my posts about and its just my life. I would put some of my original short stories or poems on my blog, but I don’t want someone to perhaps come across them and steal/ plagiarize them, you know? I just feel like my blog isn’t that great. Do you have any suggestions on how it could be better?
Someone recently commented how they liked the background of my blog because they said it was like a metaphor for my “come as I go approach” to my blog. Not sure if that was a good thing. Should I post on a schedule maybe? I used to post regularly with my old blog, but I don’t have all the time in the world. How do you post so regularly?
So, yeah, that’s about it. Please let me know how you think I could get a wider range of viewers and perhaps followers and how just in general I could improve my blog.
    Thank you soooooo much!

    1. Hi, Alex…I was the one who wrote the comment about “come as you are approach”…it was absolutely a compliment….I love how genuine you are and how approachable your blog is…you are so genuine and kind that you strike me as the kind of person who would be happy for others to “show up” in whatever frame of mind they were in…like you are the kind of person that would happy for people to “stop by” at any time 🙂 As for followers…I often visit Community Pool and let people know of my latest post…and, I visit/comment, and follow new people…your blog is really, really great…commenting on other people’s blogs is a great way to get noticed…and, believe me, there are soooooo many who have way more followers than I do….I’m a fan of quality over quantity…but, I see what you are saying. It is really helpful, and feels great when people like what you offer…and, the more followers you have, the greater the chances of people letting you know what they like and why…hang in…and, reach out to lots of bloggers if you are comfortable doing so. I nominated you for 3 quotes in 3 days…if that is something you think you’d like, that might bring new readers/followers to you….also, if you follow others, they tend to follow you back 🙂

      1. Thank you so much! This is all really really helpful. One last thing though, well actually two, for the three quotes in three days, does the quote have to be by me or can I find a quote by someone else? Secondly, how can you make a link to someones blog like you did in the three quotes in three days posts?

      2. I think people post other people’s quotes (usually famous people)…but, you can quote yourself…it might be easier to quote someone else…even a line from a book or poem…whatever you like….and, what I did was went to people’s blogs and copy and pasted the address in the address bar found at the top of the computer…then, people just click in it and it takes the reader right to the blot… 🙂

      3. Oh, also, sorry, but with the three quotes a day, do you just get a quote that you really like and kind of explain how it applies to your life or encourages you? I just want to be sure and do it like you did. 🙂

    2. It just occurred to me to share this with you…in terms of how many followers I have, only a small number of them respond (click “like” and/or comment) at any given time. I haven’t heard–or seen–anything from so many of them since we first connected. Many fall by the wayside…they stop blogging, or they stop looking for me when I don’t post regularly. I think that many who have many followers, and a regular stream of lots of “likes” and comments, spend a great deal of time on social media (networking and all that). I don’t have that kind of time, nor do I have the desire. However, I really treasure the connections I have–and I am so grateful that some really popular bloggers seek me out/make time to read my stuff. Lastly, some of the people, whose blogs I love most, do not have a ton of followers…I hope this gives you comfort and confidence…you are awesome! 🙂

    1. Thank you…I’m sure I will…a second day home from work (and the weekend) will surely be sufficient time to recover. And, thank you for you incredibly kind acknowledgement on the quote challenge!!! Take care 🙂

      1. Thank you! I’m cleaning my house and have the lower back pain to prove it. Our vacuum broke and the amount of dog hair in the new vacuum could create a whole new dog. Pretty gross how bad things get when your tools break. Feeling better about cleanliness although my lower back isn’t a fan. Lol.

      2. Back pain is horrid (given limited experience, I don’t know how chronic sufferers stand it!). I hear you about the necessity for vacuum cleaners…I only have two area rugs (one in the living room, and the other in the dining room), but, having 2 dogs, I don’t know what I’d do without a vacuum cleaner. What kind of dog do you have…and, congrats on cleaning…the end result sure does feel like a wonderful accomplishment. 🙂

      3. A black lab. She’s my baby. The back pain goes away thankfully. Just comes on when I do vacuuming, raking, shoveling, and gardening. Which stinks as I need to do those things! I had a bad back issue and ended up in the ER about 4 years ago. It was a pinched nerve. Ever since then, I have had to be careful about how I do things. Thankfully I got a dyson which only weighs 5 lbs. but the back and forth motion aggravates things. We have mostly hard wood flooring so I have the one that works on hardwood floors and area rugs.

      4. I love dogs…but, have long-loved the idea of labs and retrievers…I’ve never had anything but small dogs…but, now that I have a house, I might end up with a lab or retriever at some point. Do you find the Dyson does an exemplary job? I have a cheap vacuum that gets the job done, but I know Dyson is the Cadillac of vacuums. Lastly, it’s good to hear that you are able to mitigate your back issues. 🙂

      5. The one thing I don’t like about labs is their bark. She sounds like a beast when she barks. But she’s a nut. Like she won’t bark to be let in but barks when she sees someone in our yard or at the door. Also she’s very strong so I can’t walk her. I need to try a haltie or a choke collar. She didn’t do well with the gentle leader. Just strangled herself lol. We just got the dyson and it seems to work amazing. But I’ll hold out a review for at least 6 months. I just got a new vacuum, a Hoover I think, and it worked great. After 2 months, it stopped sucking and just sprayed dirt all over. So my house was quite dirty and grossing me out. We got the dyson v6 Motörhead and it seems to work great. Here’s to hoping it lasts longer than a few months!

  3. I hope you’re all better now. I always enjoy coming and reading your blogs especially when I have been away from wordpress for so long your blogs are the first that come to mind. It’s been hard to upload and come on to wordpress as my laptop recently died on me and I have been head deep in school work. However I am soon hoping to make a grand return to wordpress but until then I’ll continue to enjoy you’re amazingly well written blog posts. x

    1. Oh, my gosh! Thank you sooooo much for your humbling encouragement and appreciation!!! You are so very kind and much appreciated. Yes, I am feeling better…although, everyone at work seems to be recycling the same old colds…it waxes and wanes…but, I am feeling great today. How are you feeling/doing?
